1. You’re not-for-profit organisation? Why?
Yes, we are a not-for-profit organisation. RootsNews is a programme of Paper Ball Educational Innovation which is a registered trust in India. We believe the best journalism is done for public service, and not-for-profit. More importantly, we believe that this approach creates community ownership.

2. How are you funded?
We are funded through a diversity of people with a shared vision. Hundreds of individuals, a handful of major donors and some advertising. Our funding model ensures that none of our funders have a say in our editorial policies and they are free from any external influence.

3. Are donations to RootsNews tax deductible?
RootsNews is a programme of Paper Ball Educational Innovation which has a valid 80G certificate. All donations to the RootsNews programme are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. The done shall provide their PAN Card and be an Indian citizen to claim tax deduction.

4. Can I send a check instead?

5. I am a NRI (Non-Resident Indian). Can I make a donation to the cause?
As an NRI if you still hold the Indian passport (citizenship), you can make a donation to RootsNews programme of Paper Ball Educational Innovation.
